Lately I’ve been doing an air/temp check as soon as I get home in the morning from dropping Orion off at pre-school to see if it’s too hot or not to take the girls (aka Lola and Nova) out for a walk. It’s been spotty but I’m taking every chance I get because we all know summer is arriving early this year.
Lola + Nova
I’ve been getting stopped more than usual lately on these morning walks, asking about their breeds. So it’s your turn, reply back and guess their breeds. I’d be shocked if you guess correctly!
Anyway, onto the issue.

SHADOWALK: Student Art Along the CV Link
If you haven’t driven down Jackson Street or been on the CV Link in Indio lately, you might notice something different overhead.
SHADOWALK is a three quarter mile shade structure along Jackson Street connecting the CV Link to Indio's new park.
Artists Marek Walczak and Wes Heiss (Civic Space LLC), asked students at Indio High School, Shadow Hills, and Amistad High School to draw palm trees and palm leaves that would then be laser cut into the panels.
As the sun moves, the panels cast palm tree shadows across the walkway.
SHADOWALK was commissioned by the City of Indio Public Arts Commission and installed by artists Marek Walczak and Wes Heiss (Civic Space LLC) last year.
